St. Thomas Aquinas Edge Team

Q. What is your past and present involvement with Youth?

A. I'm a mom - two sons, Ian 12, and Adam 9, and one daughter, Faith, that we are awaiting from China.  In the 90s, my husband, Kevin and I lead a youth group at St. Ann's in Raynham.  I have been teaching religious education for 24 years!  I started the year after I received my confirmation, it was while I was teaching that I meet Kevin, right here at St. Thomas Aquinas!!  I have had lots of experience with young kids - as a daycare provider and now preschool teacher for the last 12 years.

Q. What are some of the things you like to do, you know, as hobbies?

A. My family thinks I'm really boring, because my favorite thing to do is read.  I love to study the bible, and I love learning about all the saints.  I also love to sing - and am so excited to be part of a new youth Choir @ St. Thomas.  We sing Sunday mass at 10 a.m.  NEW members always welcome!!  (email me for more info).  I also love to write, and I'm pretty gifted at talking ( a lot. hee hee!)

Q. So what do you do to make a living, you know, earn cash and support the family?

A. I have lots of fun jobs - I run a preschool part-time, I teach others how to do child care and teach early education, I was recently hired to teach the 7th Grade Morality Curriculum, "I Make All Things New."; lastly, I'm a budding author - as you can see I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up. :)

Q. Do you have any other family or extended family?

A. Kevin (aka hubby);  Ian and Adam (aka kids); Kristen and Kenny (aka siblings); Judy and John/Maureen (aka parents and step parents); plus great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts/uncles, and inlaws.

Q. What is your favorite Bible verse?

A. This is a TOUGH question, it changes with what God is trying to say to me on a particular day, or during a particular time in my life.  I love the whole book of Romans (written by St. Paul) - but if I had to pick one verse it would be, Galatians 2:20 which I paraphrase as:  "I have been crucified with Christ - It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."    Jesus is my savior, he died to give me life - that's pretty amazing - and not something we can really fully comprehend as humans - but a state of life I truly strive to achieve.
